Singapore will be celebrating its 53rd year of independence. In the pursuit of progress, is the nation forgetting its heritage and at what cost? The panel features Adrian Tan, a litigator and VP of The Law Society of Singapore; Andrew Ing, COO of the Lo & Behold group and Management Committee member of the Restaurant Association of Singapore; Jose Raymond, founder of communications agency SPIN and the former VP of partnerships at the Singapore Swimming Association; and Krystal Choo, CEO and founder of Wander and co-founder of Tickle.

Adrian Tan


Adrian Tan is a post-independence Singaporean lawyer who has grown up with the nation. He is the author of The Teenage Textbook and other works that document aspects of Singapore life. He helped create the award-winning TV series The Pupil (about life in a Singapore law firm) and the box-office hit Homecoming starring Jack Neo (about celebrating Chinese New Year in this part of the world). He is a litigator with TSMP Law Corporation, specialising in technology and en bloc disputes, among other things.

Andrew Ing


Andrew Ing has over 30 years of industry experience in marketing, events, F&B and nightlife operations and management. Currently the Chief Operating Officer of The Lo & Behold Group, Andrew directly oversees operations across the group. Andrew is currently the secretary of the Singapore Nightlife Business Association; a member of the Engagement & Outreach Committee of the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP); and a member of the Ministry of Manpower’s SkillsFuture HR Sectoral Tripartite Committee. He also serves as a mentor for the RAS Mentorship Programme, the SHATEC Mentorship Programme (F&B), and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) Kickstart Fund. He is also a chevalier of the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne (Singapour chapitre)

Jose Raymond


Jose Raymond served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Environment Council after his stint as a Press Secretary to the Minister of the Environment and Water Resources. He also volunteered in various non-profit roles which include the Singapore Swimming Association (as Vice-President) and the Northeast Community Development Council (as Chairman of Environment Committee). Currently, he is the Founder and Chief Activist Officer of SPIN, an agency which specialises in communications and content marketing. Raymond is a keen advocate for sports and through his current volunteer roles as a Founding Vice-Chairman of the Chiam See Tong Sports Fund and Vice-President of Flash Athletics Club, he strives to reduce inequality in sports.

Krystal Choo


Krystal Choo is a two-time TEDx speaker and the CEO and Founder of Tickle, a marketplace for original, community-driven experiences. As a tech entrepreneur, the platforms she builds are upon the foundation of connectedness, authenticity and putting humanity at the heart of digital interaction. Her personal mission is to advance human connection in progressively virtual environments. A featured international speaker, breaking glass ceilings in an industry where only 2.6% of venture-funded businesses are female-founded and led, she is the steady voice for disruption and impact.
